Ballard Defeats No. 2 Dallas Center-Grimes

2 Feb

Ballard (Huxley) 78  Dallas Center-Grimes 66

HUXLEY, Ia. – Mason Jensen scored 18 points and Michael Wuestenberg added 15 points and eight rebounds for Ballard, which handed No. 2 Dallas Center-Grimes its first loss of the season.

Andrew Kramer scored a game-high 19 points for the Mustangs.

I took my 2 boys to the game for the last 3 quarters. DCG was undefeated and ranked second in class 3A. It was a great game  and the Ballard boys really played as a team. It’s a tough time for the Ballard School District right now as their budget is currently roughly $900k upside down for next year. It was nice for the community to be able to come together for one night of fun and excitement.

That and overly optimistic projections by the former superintendent.
